Students protest in all universities and colleges of the country on Wednesday

The nationalist student party has called for protests in universities and colleges across the country on Wednesday in protest of the BCL attack. Saif Mahmud Jewel, general secretary of the organization, told Prothom Alo about the program at around 12 midnight on Tuesday.
Earlier, Chhatra Dal central president Kazi Raunkul Islam Shravan had announced a two-day program at a press conference at the party's Naya Paltan central office. It was informed at that time that protest processions would be held in educational institutions (colleges and universities) across the country on May 26 and in districts and metropolises on May 26 to protest the BCL's attack on Chhatra Dal leaders and workers.

However, Saif Mahmud told Prothom Alo that the BCS exam will be held on May 26. For this reason, they have postponed the program on that day.
On Tuesday morning, the BCL leaders and activists were attacked by the BCL in the central Shaheed Minar area when they were about to enter the Dhaka University campus. At least 30 students were injured. Later, around 11:30 pm, a chase took place between the two sides at Doel Chattar. Several people were injured in the incident. At one stage, Chhatra Dal left the campus in pursuit of Chhatra League.
At the press conference, Chhatra Dal leaders alleged that 70 leaders and activists of different levels, including Chhatra Dal women, were injured in the attack on Dhaka University. Many of them are in critical condition at the hospital.
Saif Mahmud said Chhatra Dal leaders Mansura Alam, Rehena Akhter Shirin, Shanjida Yasmin Tuli, Syeda Sumaiya Parveen and Tanvi Mallick were attacked. They were also thrown on the road and beaten. Two leaders of Chhatra Dal were picked up and thrown in the drain of Shahidullah Hall and tortured. Chhatra League activists are even harassing the injured leaders and workers and doctors who are undergoing treatment at the hospital.
